(Date) – The Little Rock Fire Department (LRFD) responded to a fire at a local apartment complex early this morning, successfully containing and extinguishing the flames. According to the LRFD, firefighters arrived at the scene at approximately 2:00 a.m. after receiving multiple calls reporting a fire at the Rock Pointe Apartments on North Rodney Parham Road. Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke and flames coming from one of the apartment units. Firefighters immediately began extinguishing the blaze, using multiple hose lines to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to neighboring units. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes, and the last of the flames were extinguished by 2:45 a.m. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. However, the apartment unit where the fire originated sustained significant damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the LRFD. The LRFD reminds residents to practice fire safety measures, such as: * Never leave candles or other open flames unattended. * Keep flammable materials away from heat sources. * Install smoke detectors in every room of your home and test them regularly. * Create and practice a fire escape plan. Residents who were displaced by the fire are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The LRFD is working to determine the extent of the damage and ensure that all residents affected by the fire have access to the necessary resources.
